Good eats. In town for IA FB and Vesta was a walk down the hill from the Homewood. Last night we had the pork tenderloin & the salmon blt (outstanding) & tonight we had the Vesta burger & the meatsa pizza. All food was excellent with good blend of flavors.Very nice wine selection with reasonable prices although the bartender & waiter we had the 2 nights knew squat about wine. They will, however, bring a taste of a wine by the glass before you but a glass. No hesitation about coming back on return trip.

This place has so much potential but falls short of my expectation every tine I go. The menu looks like it will knock your socks off and it should. However, my socks are still on 🙁 I feel the staff just isn’t skilled enough to attain what the owners are trying to accomplish. I ordered the hummus sampler and it looked liked it had been plated 5 days before it was served and allowed to sit in the fridge uncovered. A crust had developed. Disgusting. My friend ordered a Caesar Salad and it was served with honey mustard dressing. My score C-.

My body is a temple. 3/5 Spoons. Moolah Meter $$$The Mouthful:Vesta of Coralville is located at the newly remodeled and quickly changing Iowa River Landing next to the Marriot Hotel. The menu is Mediterranean inspired with a bit of a American flair. Vesta’s has ample seating insid eand during those warm summer months enjoy an evening out on their patio in from of the Marriot. Once you have found your way inside you may want to ask to sit in the library for a more intimate and personal setting for a small group or party. Preparations:Prices for the meals ranged from $10 for sandwiches up to almost $30 for high end meals such as beef tenderloin so there is something for everyone on the menu to pick from. Everyone was in a consensus that each meal was prepared and plated professionally but each of us were left thinking each meal needed a little something else. Taste was not an issue as each meal was served warm and in a timely manner. But again perhaps a salad or small side dish could have been served with our meals. Make sure you have room for dessert as there are a few unique items on there that are worth a taste. Ruminations:Everyone in the group had a pleasant time at Vesta it was relaxed, friendly, and not loud(the place was defiantly not empty) even the crazy cat lady felt comfortable enough to enjoy her night out without her feisty felines. We all enjoyed our time at Vesta and were eager to try something else on the menu but alas time caught up with us as well as our bills and we were forced to exit and wait for another day. Reservations:Reservations are not required but might be a good idea for larger groups or on the weekends.

Way better than average hotel restaurant. Good, but sometimes quiet travel friendly bar. Solid menu with good variety!!

Very nice. Vesta is conveniently situated next to the Marriott in Coralville. I had dinner there with several friends and we all enjoyed it. The bruschetta was very nice–slices of bread with 4 different choices of toppings. I had some chicken-curry-orzo soup that was very good and had a nice kick. I also had the lamb Gyro which was excellent and quite filling. The pork medallions were in a very elegant presentation and very juicy and tasty. The Tiramisu and key lime pie desserts were good, not great, but just the right size for a little something sweet after the meal. The service was very good too. I’d give it 3.5/5 stars.

Great lunch. Friends recommended this stop to me and I’m glad they did. The waiter recommended the lamb gyro which was well seasoned and filled with bright flavors (homemade harissa and hummus). With this I tried the curry chicken orzo soup which was a fresh approach to chicken noodle. It was very comforting and nice for a cool day. I also started with the spinich salad with bing cherry vinaigrette. It was an awesome way to start and I loved the onion ring with it!
