NO SOUP. I have to say after being a somewhat frequent customer working upstairs I have finally come to the final straw. I received their Chicken and dumpling soup and dumplings were blue……why were they BLUE?! Tried emailing the company with the email address they have on their website and no response yet. Super grossed out and hungry! Will never be having their soup again and will have to really think about whether I want to eat there at all again.
Best fries in Des Moines. Love this place. The only thing to make it better would be if it was open for dinner!

What a Great Place. I have been to this place for lunch three times inthe past two weeks. Each time I haev tried something different. Burger was excellent, perfect size, switched it up the 2nd time and ordered a turkey burger, still excellent. Third time i put them to the test and ordered a custom salad. Fresh, tasty, worth the cost, and did I say FRESH? The fries, while a little oily (i tend to not eat fried food so take this for what its worth) are amazing with trffle oil and asiago…mmmmmm. I have alot of lunch meetings, so I will be a frequent patron. Great job, keep it up!
Love it. Their burgers are fantastic, the best around. They are the perfect size, perfectly cooked and dressed. The beef itself tastes better than standard burgers at other restaurants, made with lower-quality beef. Knowing the beef I’m eating did not come from a factory farm makes it much easier to enjoy! The bun (made there?) is delicious, as are the condiments/toppings. And the fries served with it are amazing. I love the atmosphere as well. My family has only eaten at Big City a couple times because of the hours it is open (weekday lunch only). We do not work downtown, so we often find ourselves wishing it was open on the weekend when we could eat there.
