Our group of five had a very pleasant time at the Continental last Saturday night. They had a wide variety of drinks, one for everyone in our group and our male server was very a tentative and helpful.

Too loud, overpriced, burnt drinks and I was spilled on.. My husband and I went for the jazz on Saturday night. First thing we noticed was the lighting sucked. We had to get our phones out to read the menu. He ordered a mojito and I ordered a honey citrus smash both were bad and we had to add sugar to them just so they were drinkable. The we ordered the cold smoked scallops, the crab cakes and the steak and egg sandwich. The food delivery time was ok. However, there was only two scallops for about $10.00 which had no smoke flavor and the sauce had very little horseradish flavor. The crab cakes had an extremely fishy flavor, but the sauce was good although it was limited. The steak and egg were seasoned well but the bread was so hard you couldn’t cut it and the fries were cold. The server spilled water a whole glass of water on me and then gave me one napkin to wipe myself off with. Our second drink a captain and coke was burnt and gave us heartburn the rest of the night. The music was too loud so we couldn’t even have a conversation and we sat towards the back of the restaurant.

Rude Service. I recently visited the Continental with a group of friends, and one person in our group was served a frozen beer. The waitress was incredibly rude about correcting the error, even bringing back the once frozen beer in a glass after it thawed as if to suggest we were just looking for a free drink. The bar tender, who was not 3 feet away from us, was also very obviously bad talking our table well within ear shot. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience, and I would definitely not recommend.

Disappointing. Had pre-concert dinner and drinks at the Continental last night…very disappointing. Service was terrible, food was sadly mediocre, and what was once a decent wine selection is now down to a few run-of-the-mill options. The table, floor and bar were all sticky. How does that happen? This used to be a great spot. Whoever owns or manages this place, please PLEASE get your game back on!

Not a good experience. After being a loyal east village customer, and going to the Continental since it opened, I regret to report that we have to post that our experince last time was HORRIBLE. Saturday night, All glasses and dishware were VERY dirty. Tacky, sticky and not clean. Our service was so slow, we couldn’t get drinks in less than 20 minutes! Also our server would just disappear. after two dirty glasses, and the server saying, yes- we have had a problem with dirty dishes- yet she set down a disguistingly dirty glass with decent wine in it. It was so bad, we left and only had two drinks each and one small bowl of roasted potatoes. and had a lovely clean dinner with a very attentive server at Lucca.

Good weekend nights. Food can be a bit pricey, especially when ordering multiple tapas. Dinners are good and better options if hungry. Drinks are a bit pricey too, but go during the free concerts and its worth the free show for a drink or 2.
