Very good brew pub. The Stout, IPA, and Brown Ale all were very good examples of their varietys. For dinner I had the Duck which was moist and not over cooked. The sauce is a little overberring in my opinion, Id prefered to have had it on the side. The restaurant is in an old brick building from the 1800’s with a very cozy atmosphere.
Stopped here for a cocktail and dessert: Red’s Rye and the Ginger Beerchetta. Good ginger beer pairing I think. This looks like a nice place otherwise: they are very slow about cleaning off tables and I’m not sure why parents bring very young children here. Get a baby sitter for your date night people.
Great Colossus Salad. Colossus Salad delicious and staff friendly. Honest Lawyer beer good IPA.
Horrible bar, Lackluster kitchen, Mediocre service. My husband and I ate at Court Avenue Brewing Company last night and were very unimpressed. First of all, I think the two dollar sign icon rating is off- it was every bit as expensive as Django, a fantastic restaurant with a three dollar sign rating, and we found ourselves wishing we had gone there instead. My husband is the beer enthusiast so I looked at the cocktail menu. I was in the mood for something a little fruity and the waiter recommended one of several martinis on the menu that he said was their most popular. It tasted like cough medicine so I asked for a Long Island Tea which I think must have been made without coke. It was extremely sour but it had taken so long to get our drinks that I drank it anyway (it had been a long day!). As we drank our expensive and not at all tasty drinks (my husband was also disappointed in the beer), we perused the menu and found a very small selection. I was wanting a sandwich but the only choices were a burger or a prime rib sandwich and one vegetarian option. The only salad selections were an Asian salad, a steak and blue cheese salad, and a vegetarian Greek salad. The only other items on the menu were three different kinds of steak, several different seafood entrees, and a few of kinds of pizza. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich and I ordered the Greek salad. The fries on his plate and the falafel on my salad both looked and tasted like they came frozen from a restaurant supply store (or Sam’s club?) and were only heated at the restaurant. Other than that, my salad involved feta cheese, kalamata olives, lettuce, cucumber, and tomatoes- nothing exciting. My husband’s sandwich was okay, nothing exciting either. We were not half way finished before we agreed we would never come back. We wouldn’t have complained to the waiter as we know it isn’t his fault, but as it was, he never reappeared after we ordered (someone else brought the food to the table) until he brought us the check. This was just an all around no go- don’t waste your money!
We’re from out of state and we think this is a real find. I loved my Tai Curry Scallops and Bill liked his Maple Pork Tenderloin. House brews were very good and the waiter was very good.
Another favorite!. Absolutely LOVE this place. The staff is SO nice… food and beer are excellent and atmosphere is comfortable. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone.
I had a giftcard I received as a gift that I redeemed tonight. I’ve eaten here years ago & remember great food & excellent service. Unfortunately, cab co has gone downhill. I ordered a salad & there was a dead bug right on top of my salad!! Gross! The waiter was apologetic & took the salad & a beer off of the tab but no manager came by to check on us. The waiter was so so with his service. Our entrees took a while to come out after that as well. There are far better establishments to go to right on court ave so I recommend skipping this restaurant. It was fantastic years ago but has unfortunately become a sub par restaurant. Such a shame.
