Only decent option in beaverdale area. Huevos con chorizo (eggs and mex sausage) had no flavor; and unfortunately it wasn’t just a one time deal… I always ordered it for breakfast when I was wanting Mexican and didn’t want to drive to east or southside (where the really good authentic Mexican food is). The steak tacos also flavorless and meat dry. Their steak tasted like a really cheap cut, again, no flavor. Service for carry out wasn’t great either, I always had to wait ten minutes just for someone to attend to me, and it’s not like it was busy.
This is the kind of no-nonsense, decent food, reasonable prices restaurant that’s nice to have near our home. Staff is friendly. Good has always been good, drinks are good, and the location is great.
This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Iowa! The service is great, food is awesome and the margaritas are fantastic!!! If you are looking for an authentic atmosphere, El Aguila is it.
