This restaurant is a hidden gem of Des Moines. Locally owed and operated is the name of the El Patio game… and I like it. The service is outstanding, much like the margaritas. Definitely make time to stop by this place. Beware, it’s not a large venue, so there may be a wait. BUT the food and service are worth it.
This restaurant has been around since the 1940s and serves an excellent SouthWest/Santa Fe style menu. And good margaritas, too. One of my favorite haunts.
Outstanding Santa Fe Cuisine. Not Mexican food but Santa Fe cuisine and yes, there is a difference! Fresh, flavorful food and not over-priced. Slow-roasted pork with hatch chilies and the chocolate cake are favorites as are dishes with the blue corn tortillas. Intimate setting. Excellent dining spot by those who know food!
Always pleasant, always good food reasonably priced.
Not authentic Mexican. Everything tastes premade from unfresh ingredients. The menu hasn’t changed in years.
Seriously fresh and fabulous food! What a terrific experience. This may be a slower paced place, but it is so worth the wait!
