Review. I am a native of Louisiana and decided to try Fat Tuesday. It was such a surprise in that it surpassed my high expectations. I travel on a regular basis and I am often underwhelmed by so called Cajun Restaurants. I am looking forward to my next trip to Des Moines so I can enjoy another Fat Tuesday experience.

Awesome Experience!. The food was excellent! Cajun seasoning was great! Small and quaint, definitely provided New Orleans atmosphere!

Outstanding. Etouffee was very good. Catfish was amazing. Drummies were like none other. Red beans and rice was very good. Gumbo was perfect. Cornbread was dry. 4.5 stars out of 5. Would definitely return and tell a friend about it. Our waiter was running around around like a crazy man and it was a slow night.

Good Cajun food!. The red beans and rice are delicious! Great fried okra and the catfish isn’t bad. The shrimp poor boys are good too. Just wish they had muffaletta’s on the menu!!

This had tons of flavor and hardy texture with a little heat and was excellent for dipping with the jalapeo corn bread

I can’t understand how this place has stayed in business. our waitress was scarry, a total Methhead. the food was horrible I mean litterally in edible. the crawfish sitting on top of my friends gumbo harkened back to a hot day at sea world or worse. I swear the smell of it about knocked me out of my chair. the alligator balls were greasy and disgusting. the only redeeming quality this restaurant has is that the catfish is good. I will never set foot in this place again the smell of that crawfish will remain my worst ever restaurant experience.

Awesome place. We were in Des Moines for business and took a chance. Glad we did. The owner met us at the door and was very friendly. The waitress is extremely nice. Wish I didn’t live in FL or I would make this my usual spot.
