Dont Eat Here!!!. My first experience here was not bad, but it was also my first experience with sushi so I was excited. I went twice after that and was insanely disappointed. My second and third times going I was physically repulsed by the food. My dish, supposed to be a hot and cooked dish, was completely frozen. When I asked for it to be sent back, the staff declined. I have no idea why I even went back another time. The wait staff is completely useless. My friend and I were the only people in the restaurant, literally, and we were completely ignored the entire time. The staff just stands around and talks with each other. Or they are busy controlling their screaming children that they bring to work and just run amok around the place. The staff is very inattentive and it takes them about 20 minutes to bring you water when you sit down. My friend and I waited about 30 minutes to have the waitress retrieve our bill while she was just standing there picking her nails. Overall, a terrible experience. Disgusting food. Terrible staff. Bad restaurant.
Best restaurant in Des Moines. Love the sushi and the haiku salad. I would recommend it to a friend.
Love this place! Best sushi I’ve ever had!
We LOVED it!! Great food, amazing service, and a beautiful restaurant. My 14 year old thinks we should eat there everyday 🙂 Wasn’t a fan of the green tea icecream
Best sushi is DSM. I’d have to say the is the best sushi I’ve had in Des Moines thus far. The rice is soft and velvety, and the rolls melt in your mouth! Has a young vibe and a club sort of appearance to it. A nice new spot in the Drake campus area.
Tiger, Rainbow, and Dragon Rolls. SINsational!!!
Great !. We have been to Haiku a number of times. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great too. We normally go to Appare if we want a more romantic dinner, but if we just want some sushi and to relax with a few drinks, we come to Haiku. It’s more of a bar feeling and a younger crowd.
