No problems here. This is not Centro or Alba or any of the high price places, so do not expect fancy schmancy meals. The lasagne, chicken parm, and alfredo chicken bake are all excellent. The old fashioned sodas are unique and the decor is very friendly and worthy of conversation. For those who lament the quality of the endless pasta.. you are ordering the cheap, endless pasta. Try something else.
Service was okay, but it took awhile to get our food. They couldnt even get the pop right, there was too much soda water and not enough syrup. Silverware was dirty, parmesan in the shaker was melted into one blob and didnt come out. Food was bland, tasteless and expensive. I wish i would have saved my time and money.
Went to osw in dsm after visiting one in Salem Oregon last year. Oregon was far superior. In dsm food was cold and bland. Service was quick but when I asked for a spoon for coffee was told they were over at salad bar. Won’t be back.
I ended up having my wedding rehearsal dinner here, due to the location and pricing. We decided we didnt want to spend the money for a top Des Moines restaurant like Centro. Also SW has a nice party room and they were really friendly when I talked to them about making arrangements. The food available here is mostly big portions of traditional pasta dishes. The food is not going to knock anyone’s socks off, but is good enough that most people will like it. It’s also very kid friendly. My rehearsal dinner went smoothly. Everyone seemed to like their food (they ate it anyway) and service was great
My family loves spaghetti works. It is a go-to favorite. We usually get the endless bowls of spaghetti. You can change up the sauce in each bowl. Salad bar comes with and compliments the spaghetti very nicely. Spaghetti lovers like me will love it. Plus the atmosphere is fun and friendly. Been going here my whole life.
Didn’t enjoy it at all! Waitress was nice, but the food was awful. Mushrooms tasted like they came out of a can, a 15 year old can!
Might be nostalgic…. But I still enjoy Spaghetti Works. It was one of the few places my brother, sister, and I could all agree on as kids and genuinely all like it. My go to is the spicy red clam sauce, but I usually get a little beer-cheese as well. I’m also a sucker for a good salad bar and garlic bread, so what more could I ask? I’d choose Spaghetti Works over the Olive Garden in a heartbeat.
