Best Vietnamese in Des Moines. Pho 888 has the best Vietnamese in Des Moines, hands down! The service is occasionally slow, but well worth the wait. The pad Thai noodles are a personal favorite, but their pho is great as well. They also have the best crab ran goons I’ve had at any restaurant. And I always make a point to order their caf su da! The best caf su da in town as well.
Heard good things about restaurant. Totally different once there. Horrible service, customers that came in after us had orders and food before our order taken. Once our orders were taken only my boyfriends food was served to us. They had given him the wrong food. 20 minutes later we were canceling our order, was mentioning the problem to lady out counter when she started making comments about how since we are American we just can’t handle smell! Have no good things to say. BEWARE!
What a horrible services. I was asked to pay a $1 more if i dont want ice in my drink that i already pay $3.50 for. Employment discrimination, only hires Vietnamese workers that do not speak English.
Slow Service but Great Food. Service was slow and the waitress forgot to bring our bubble teas, but the wait was worth it. There are just under 100 menu items that mostly consist of Vietnamese food (but also some Chinese and Thai). Overall, the service was poor but the food more than makes up for it. I go regularly (I work down the street) and have had the same experience every time. I would recommend Pho or the Vietnamese style sub plus a bubble tea which in total costs about $10. I would go if you have time and patience and are hungry for a generous helping of some authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
Vegetarian food is not widely available in the metro but this is the place to go if you want vegetarian options that taste great. My wife loves the pho and for me the veggie fried rice hits all my happy buttons.
It’s the best Vietnamese restaurant in Des Moines period I’ve ate at all of em and this one is the one the pho is awesome the taste is authentic I get the special XL pho every time and it is always delicious
