Great spot for bar food and burgers. We have been to Quinton’s in Des Moines probably a dozen times over the past couple years, and have generally been very pleased with the experience. The food is above par for bar food and our servers have almost always been attentive – even on busy nights. We have not ever tried a weekday lunch there, so I can’t speak of the service at those times. Just wanted to voice our experiences with Quinton’s after seeing a few bad reviews. The place is usually pretty busy, but if it’s going to be much of a wait, we’ll just go a block away to a variety of other dining options. I will note that it’s rare to see the same waitress from one visit to the next, so chances are there’s a lot of employee turnover there. I’m sure you can’t please every customer, and some people are more picky than others, but I’ve never had any reason to write a poor review.

First time going here. This is the first time I have been to this place some gave me a gift cert. to this place the sandwiches look awesome however I ordered fries and they are so greasy I could wring them out and make a salad dressing the potatoes look like they cut them themselves which I appreciate but if you are going to go to all that trouble why would you serve them like that I think I could throw them on the wall and they would stick. got this order to go and I am sure as they put them in the to go container they could see how bad they were. dont know if i will go back.

Cooking if that is what u call it. The cooks need to know how to cook chicken. The one I had was like eating 10 yr expired jerky. I would of said something to the waitress but she was to busy dancing in the bar area. Then again if the cooks thought that it was good enough to serve to a customer it wouldn’t matter to them in the 1st place ! Just a waste of breath:( but most of the clientele is drunk people looking to soak up alcohol to keep going and having the runs the next morning was just the alcohol so let them have it! WON’T BE BACK EVER!08 Oct, 2014The cooking, if that is what u call it!:(. The cook needs to know how to serve chicken breasts. The one it had was like eating expired jerky!! I would of said something to the waitress but she was to busy dancing in the bar and if the cooks thought that if it was good enough to serve to a customer then there no point saying thing because they just r terrible at their job and it wouldn’t sink in to there head! Then I thought that their clientele is drunk waisted people looking for something to soak up alcohol , let them keep on cooking. Just hope they don’t ruin the thought of cooks elsewhere who actually care what they serve to people!!! WE WILL NOT BE BACK!! Even 4 a drunk fix. Not that u company would care anyway , u still employ cook with that talent. How sad!!

Quinton’s. It amazes me how an owner could have such an investment in their restaurant, yet hire, perhaps the worst bartender I’ve ever encountered! He callously hollered at the waitresses in front of my date and me while frantically scurrying around on a not-so-busy Thursday night. If he had even an ounce of style his body of work might be considered comical and worthy of a second look; however, he didn’t and it was just sad… Food was predictable bar quality.I won’t return.

BEST Bar in Town. Most consistent food I’ve had at ANY restaurant in Des Moines. Bartender Matt is the best, and still remembered my name as well as my husband’s even after our 9 month hiatus from the East Village. Awesome Happy Hour (order the CCQ!) and will always switch the tv to a game you’d like to watch. They also play Radiohead (which is enough of a win for me).

Went there for lunch yesterday to watch Iowa State play Kansas State in their first round game in the Big 12 tournament. Apparently the Quintons staff had know idea this was going on because they were completely under staffed and had NO Audio during the game. Now I know that Quintons isn’t a true sports bar but good god.. We are in Iowa. The best team Iowa’s had in a while is playing, you’re packed at lunchtime on a Thursday because of it.. put the freaking game on with Audio!!! It was amateur hour at its finest! However.. Food was decent, waitress was friendly, it’s just that it was completely unorganized and if I was ownership I would fire whoever was in charge yesterday. I won’t be back.
