  Best burgers I’ve had yet!. My daughter took me to Star Bar a year ago and I have been back several times. The food is fantastic. The Star Bar burger is the best bacon/cheese burger I have had and I have had a lot!! Keep up the good food Star Bar!!!

  My go-to bar/restaurant. I travel to DSM frequently, and while I have been seeking different restaurants to try, Star Bar remains at the top of my list for a place to relax, grab a drink and some food. The service is sufficient , which is fitting for the casual atmosphere that it portrays. Their good drink selection is nice, and their appetizers are also impressive (havn’t found one I don’t like yet!). Their meals/entres are also good – nothing overly remarkable, but certainly not bad food. If you are in the mood for food/drinks and not really sure where to go (or don’t feel like being bold and just want an easy place to go), this is always a great fallback spot.

  Don’t Bother. Been there a couple of times. Sometimes the food is great, sometimes absolutely terrible. What seems to never vary is the abismal service. It feels like servers ignore you, it is next to impossible to get a drink refill in a timely fashion. My husband has only stiffed a waitress twice in the 6 years we have been together, and one of the times was at the Star Bar. Better off going somewhere else.

  Star Bar has a great vibe – a diverse clientele, good atmosphere, good food and drink. For the most part, service is good, but on occasion you have to flag down a server. Pet peeve – most of the tables are wobbly. I’ve used many folded napkins to stabilize the tables.

  Service spoiled the food. While the food at Star Bar was pretty good (I had the fish and chips), the service was HORRIBLE. We were there for about 10 minutes before anyone even approached our table. The waitress took our drink order, didn’t bring menus, and then didn’t bring them back when she brought my wife’s drink. I called after her for menus, but was ignored. 10 minutes later, I caught her and asked for menus. We got them, but then were again ignored for 20 minutes (yes, I used my watch). We were just getting ready to walk out when the waitress came back and took our orders. My wife had to remind her of my drink which she finally brought with the meal, which was also when we got our first water refills. Strangely, she was very responsive when it came time to pay. The fish and chips I ordered was really pretty good. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. The horrible service has ruined any return visit we might make, though.
