Repeat restaurant!!. Every visit, awesome customer service and wonderful food. Never disappointed!! Highly recommended!!
TWO Words. Over priced and Over rated
Good Food & Good Service. Tursi’s Latin King is hard to see and find. From the back parking lot, there are no signs to let you know where you are. Inside, the decor is pretty. It’s old world European with painted murals and wood roman columns. The false ceiling tiles add to the look with a second benefit of sound dampening. Our server was first rate. She knew the menu and wine list. She answered any and all questions thoroughly with a smile. The food delivery flowed continuously with just the right breaks in between. For appetizers, we tried calamari, fried ravioli, and marinara covered mozzarella. Two of the three were wonderful. The marinara was the star here. It’s sweet and full flavor. The fried ravioli was not very good unless covered with the wonderful sauce. We tried multiple entrees: Chicken Spiedini, Baked Salmon, Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Pollo alla Piccata, Pasta Trio, and several others I could not see. All of them were good. The consensus winner was Spaghetti alla Carbonara. The creamy sauce was pleasantly mixed with prosciutto. Everyone loved it, but small portions would be better. It is really rich. The Salmon and Piccata were good, but slightly heavy on the lemon. What a wonderful dinner all the way around.
Great restaurant, if you haven’t been there the chicken spedeni is fantastic, and the tiramisu is one of a kind.
Food DISAPPOINTING. Got the new york strip. after taking 3 bites, i told the waitress it was tough. she asked if i wanted another steak – i should have said yes – the new york strip was a $30 steak – the manager came out of the back and looked at us a few minutes. they charged me $20 for a steak that she brought back to the kitchen. will not go back there. there was no seasoning on the steak. THE BREAD WAS GOOD.
Ok at best! Not even close to the big names in gourmet food in Des Moines. Home style decor and food similar to Olive Garden
This is abosuletly one of the best restaurants in Des Moines! The food, service and ambience are all top notch. Hidden on the east side, you wouldn’t think you were about to have a 5 star meal but that is exactly what you’ll get! Our server, Michelle, hit every note. From her excellent wine recommendation to stopping in enough, but not too much, and just her friendly personality even made my hard to please father in law extremely impressed. I had the steak de burgo which was cooked perfectly medium rare and garlicky delicious. My wife and her father had chicken spedini, a house specialty, which was melt in your mouth tender and juicy. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu but they also brought out a house made cannoli when she heard I tried to come on my birthday but they were closed. Both were spectacular. Easily one of the top 3 restaurants in Des Moines.
