Pleasantly Surprised. I was born and raised on the East Side, and there are some really good places to eat here, but not near enough of them. Imagine my surprise when I happened upon this new place, located just one block away from my childhood home. I eagerly took my wife to dinner there later that evening, and learned that it was only the second day of business for the restaurant. I do expect good service when I go out to eat, however, I have also learned that it is common for brand new places to struggle for a bit with training a new wait staff. I was in the mood for something healthy that evening, so I ordered the grilled cod. At plenty of high-end restaurants, I have been disappointed with a mediocre grilled salmon or cod, so my expectations were not too high. After I patiently helped train the young and inexperienced waitress, my food arrived and I dug in right away. I was amazed. It was firm, but not rubbery at all. It was soft, but not mushy at all. It was moist, but not dripping wet. This fish was prepared perfectlyI have visited on four more occasions since then, and I am happy to report that although the wait staff still has a little ways to go, they have improved greatly, and each of my meals there have been just as tasty as the first.I am so happy now for one more reason not to have to drive to Ankeny or the West Side to have an excellent meal. Bravo Wedgewood!

I have a large appetite and am always full wgen I leave but that could have something to do with the appetizers, my favorite is the the gizzards which are hard to cook right but they do them perfect. They also have a great bar for after dinner with good prices and great service. All in all I couldnt recomend a better place for lunch or dinner on the east side, especially for the money
No return trip planned.. My husband & I took our adult kids and 2 grandkids here for dinner about 3 weeks ago. We absolutely adore Now or Later, so we were hoping for the same everything! We were terribly disappointed! My husband had the build your own pasta, the noodles seemed overcooked and the sauce had little flavor. I had the chicken deburgo, the chicken was a little overcooked and though you could taste the good flavor of the deburgo sauce, it was incredibly salty!! My daughter had the chicken alfredo, it took her a while to find the chicken, just a couple small pieces and that was it. Her fiance’ had a chef salad, he said it was ‘fine’, nothing stellar and just plain ‘bagged’ type lettuce.The grandkids enjoyed their chicken strips & cottage cheese, so they were the only winners at the table. The service was pretty bad, our waitress was very slow and inattentive. It actually took 40 minutes AFTER we were done with our meal to get our check. I guess we’ll just stick to Now or Later and skip this place permanently!
Delicious. My husband and I ordered food about 2 weeks ago. I went in to pick it up, and the interior is very nice. The lounge/bar area is open with quite a bit of seating, and the waitress/bartender was very sweet. Our food was hot and delicious. Then, a few friends and I went for lunch last week. The dining room was very nice, our waitress was attentive and gave us lots of opinions and reviews. We all ordered the Cavatelli lunch special. We ordered onion rings to share, too. Perfectly crisp and light with homemade Ranch dressing. The cavatelli was baked with cheese on top, and we got 2 enormous pieces of garlic bread with is. The serving was immense for the 6.99 price. We were all very impressed, and have decided to come here on payday. We were so in love with the delicious food. It is like a much closer Now or Later for us! Thanks 🙂
