Proceed with Caution. This restaurant is listed as gluten free friendly. However, when I was there this evening, I found that the gf menu has not been updated since 2010. They list fries as gf even though they use a shared frier. The kitchen manager was willing to accommodate, but not happily. Sadly, the food I was served was bland and not worth the price. Hopefully my experience will encourage the staff to seek out more education on handling food allergies.
BEST WINGS IN DUBUQUE – Serious (Buffalo Style) !!. Serious folks. Houlihan’s is not perfect and I know some who hate this restaurant (due to menu being large or bad cook that night ??) – but the Buffalo Wings here are best in town. Don’t even think of going to Buffalo Wings Rest. in Dubuque – they are awful! While I’m here, best Ribs in Dbq is at Chammps but again, don’t dig deep on menu here too. Menu too large and some things awful here too. Listen to me, I’ve been to all the horrible rest’s in this town and I have found what is good and at what restaurant! Cheers.
Don’t get screwed like we did!. They have a 15 minute guarantee on luncheon specials. Alas, they don’t honor it. We ordered a potato soup and a salad. The soup, which was quite good, came out in five minutes. After 18 minutes I went to the kitchen counter where it became clear that our waitress hadn’t put in our salad order. Shortly thereafter someone came to our table and told us that we had to alert them before the fact to activate their 15 minute guarantee. So, they screw up an order and use some small print excuse to void the 15 minute guarantee. Hello: Is this the old Soviet Union? We recommend that you do not patronize a place that so cavalierly screws customers.
Home cooking. A good place to get comfort food like meat loaf or baby back ribs. The mashed potatoes were sooooo good. We enjoyed our meal.
Service was horrible can’t even start to tell you. Will not be coming here again. Maybe a change in management employees very lazy
BAD SERVICE VS. GOOD FOOD. Food is good, but the service is absolutely terrible!!! The management also sucks!
A nice dining experience. We dined here with friends and found it to be a wonderful place to enjoy each other’s company while also enjoying some great food. My wife had steak, I had salmon, both were outstanding. I thought the service was exceptional and the place was very busy with a waiting list. When in Dubuque and looking for a more upscale dining experience without breaking the bank, check out Houlihan’s.
