Have been to better. Was very disappointed. Have been to other hibachi steakhouses and always good. This guy overdosed on the oils used to cook and I was horrified when he doused my salmon with teriyaki sauce. YUCK! I hate teriyaki sauce & would have told him not to use it if he had asked.
Don’t bother making a reservation. Came back again, made a reservation and the host with the bangs tried seating us at the sushi bar. AGAIN. I don’t make a damn reservation 2 hours ahead of time to sit at the sushi bar. Then she continued to act like it was a huge inconvenience to her that 2 people wanted to sit at a table on a Friday night to have sushi together. Pretty sure this lady is the manager, but she is RUDE. I don’t care that this is the only sushi place in Dubuque. I’m taking my business elsewhere and will now be driving to little tokyo in galena instead every Friday night. The 30 minute drive is worth it.06 Sep, 2014Sushi good, service bad. I come here every week, make a reservation and somehow end up waiting for a substantial amount of time before I get seated. I would take my business elsewhere, but unfortunately this is the only sushi restaurant in Dubuque.
The good and the bad. We have been there 4 times now…..each time the food and chefs are always good. The service seems to get worse every time we are there. We thought we would so sushi side this time. The hostess sat us and then took our order. We waited 10 minutes for drinks and about 1 hr to get our food. If not for the little blonde we would never have received our complete order. The hostess was also waiting on the tables in the hibatchi grill area. She didn’t seem to care about people she started with. We asked the other waitress if they pooled the tips and she said yes. That is wrong. Those that work hard nod wait promptly and effeciantly should get the tips. My husband had to finally go to the bar to get his own drink. Good food really bad service.
