Always an excellent experience…… Always fast, always delicious, always a great value, and always friendly. All around wonderful restaurant where the owners are your hosts….we will return over and over again.

This restaurant would be perfect if you we’re blind and tasteless. Literally terrible service, food was cooked probably in a trash can, don’t even get me started on the dcor.
Dining area clean and well staffed. Feel too many items on menu. Long wait for food to arrive. Ketchup bottle waitress gave us had filthy cap. Food ok. Prices ok. Probably will pass on opportunity to dine there again.
Great food, great price. My family has been to just about all the restaurants in Dubuque, but never found a great spot for breakfast. After checking out the Sunshine we are now hooked. The food is great(personally had the bacon omelette..cooked on the flat top), and prices are extremely low. Weekly specials include 2 pancakes, sausage, and hashbrowns for around $2.95.
Original location – great food. I recently did a review of the West End location and did not care for their service or food. We heard that the original one downtown is very good and decided to try it. We were greeted promptly at the door and our waitress was terrific. The food was very good and not greasy at all. I ordered the patty melt deluxe which comes with soup and fries. The cream of cauliflower soup was very good, my husband got the chicken shell and enjoyed it also. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meat sauce and it was thick and not greasy at all. His even came with a dessert. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very attentive. We will definitely go back to the downtown location.01 Apr, 2012West end location review only. We have gone only to the Sunshine Family Restaurant on the West End of town and our first two visits were fine. We enjoyed their breakfasts and their specials. Our last visit my husband ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs and the sauce was mostly liquid, runny and oily. There was no management in sight and while the waitress did take our plate back telling the cooks it was too runny (we could hear her side of the conversation) they didn’t offer us a new plate as their whole batch was too thin and runny. While the waitress did give us a partial credit for the meal, we will not be back. Management was not there that night otherwise we would have shared our displeasure with him. If they can’t be bothered to have someone in authority overseeing the restaurant, then I will not be a patron.
Ate there twice. Went for once breakfast and once for lunch. The fries with our burgers were cooked perfectly. Our eggs and sausage links were yummy. The hash brown serving was enormous and more like fried mashed potatoes than crispy hash browns, but they did taste good. The price is excellent and our service was great. 🙂
