Another classic Iowa city stop. The pizza is very good. Get the airliner style crust. Atmosphere is always pleasant and if you’ve gone to iowa and remember a guest who was always in their (and I graduated in ’89….. He’s still there! Neat place and lots of TVs and their still very kind to this guest.
Nostalgic and Worn Out. Airliner is a nostalgic bar that has been around for decades. It’s really run down. The walls are banged up. The railings are pulled out of the wall, and true to a college bar my feet stick to the floor. It’s gross. By the looks of the clientele, this is a place to come and reminisce about the good ole days. There were very few young adults in the place. We ordered cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and cheeseballs. All three were bad. I took of bite of each and did not finish any of them. I would only come here for a beer, maybe.
