I love the groceries there… But the pre-made food is mediocre at best and wayyyy overpriced!
Nice place. Good cheese selection, whole bean coffee is reasonably priced, and they have single beers to drink here at the bar or sample some of the fine wine they stock. Right next to the public library as grab a good book and have yourself a nice glass of wine at the Garden.
A wonderful place – worth commuting to!. I live in Cedar Rapids but make it a point to come to Bread Garden Market when I come to Iowa City.Why? Because I am instantly surrounded with all the greatest pleasures in life – wine, coffee, quality groceries.Above all else, I would recommend their hot lunch options. I’ve had soup, macaroni & cheese, and some salad items which have all exceeded my expectations. It’s a really lovely place to go and it’s efficient, too.
Homemade Cinnamon Ice Cream. This is probably one of my favorite places to shop in Iowa City for food. They offer organic food which is what I like to buy. They also sell amazing homemade ice cream, it’s awesome, my favorite flavor is the cinnamon. They also have a fabulous wine bar and section. This place is definitely a must.
Awesome Macaroni.. I came here for the first time this past week and really enjoyed it. They offer a little bit of everything. The hot lunch they serve was awesome, I really liked the macaroni and cheese. I will definitely be coming back here, not only for their lunch but maybe to even do some grocery shopping. I also heard they have awesome homemade ice cream so I will make sure to buy some the next time I come.
Great Breakfast. I was in Iowa City this past week for work and stayed at Hotel Vetro. I came here every morning for breakfast because it is so close and the food was delicious. Not only do they offer breakfast but they offer a little bit of everything. They offer groceries, wine, coffee, lunch, etc. I thought this place was great and will definitely return the next time I’m in town.
MMM..Homemade Ice Cream. My husband and I recently started shopping here and we love it. They have everything you could possibly imagine including homemade ice cream, a wine and coffee bar, a deli and salad bar. It’s a great place to come for a bite to eat, a caffeine pick me up, a glass of wine or groceries.
