The staff of teenage girls are ruining the place and the ice cream for the price is meh. It’s just average run of the mill ice cream. My last (and very last visit) was the worst. There were 19 people in line waiting for their turn. 3 teenage girls working probably around the age 15/16. One girl walked out in the middle of helping serve to make her own shake then leave. The other 2 were extremely slow. Then walks in a Pizza Hut employee (another teen girl) who cut all 19 people to trade a pizza for a couple shakes. What did the teen girls do? Stop what they were doing to make the shakes for free pizza. Which took quite some time. A family even walked out. Terrible service to trade food with another company which both are loosing money because of employees.
Creamy & Delicious. I ate ice cream here for the first time the other day and it is by far the best ice cream in Iowa City. There are many different and unique flavors to choose from, and you can order an ice cream cone, shake, etc. The service is friendly and the ice cream is creamy and delicious. This place is a definite must.

My FAVORITE Ice Cream. By far the best ice cream in Iowa City. The ice cream is rich and creamy and they have awesome flavors. I come here everyday and try something new. My day wouldn’t be the same without it. I guarantee you will love it if you come here.
Great!. I was very excited to find a new ice cream place in iowa city so that I could go somewhere other than Dairy Queen…Hayns was great! Very small, but then again it’s all about the ice cream right? I liked the unique flavors they offered, such as Apple Pie and Raspberry sherbet. I got a scoop of s’mores ice cream and a scoop of coffee oreo. I would DEFINITELY reccomend the coffee oreo, it was so creamy and the coffee flavor was great but not overpowering, plus the chunks of oreo were HUGE, definitely not your ordinary cookies n’ cream ice cream. A regular scoop costed about 2.60 with tax, and it was worth every penny!
Delicious Ice Cream Snack. We love coming here, especially around the holidays, they always have a unique and delicious flavor. They have tons of options and friendly staff.
I Scream For this Ice Cream. Heyn’s is an Iowa City Institution. The ice cream is first rate and whether you want it on a cake, sugar, or waffle cone, they’ve got you covered. If you like cow motifs–you’ll be in hog–er, cow–heaven.
