Best tacos in town. I recommend the chicken fajita taco and the veggie taco. The orange salsa and the non-cloudy green salsa are my favorites, but watch out because they’re all hot.

This is by far my favorite Mexican in Iowa City. Judging by the lines which are always there, it’s the same for many of us. You’ll stand in line at the counter to order your food. The menu is on the wall above the counter. I typically get the tacos and they are filled with anything from azada, carnitas, chorizo, fish, tripe, tongue, etc. Double-corn shelled and served with onion, cilantro, and lime. My favorite is the carnitas. The combo meal comes with rice and beans. The beans are creamy and filling, the rice light and fluffy. You do have to pay for chips and salsa if you want that, but it is a large basket of hearty chips and the salsa is blended and tasty. If you decide to order the guacamole, be prepared for a bowl of creamy, delicious avocado heaven. I typically get a Mexican soda to drink – real sugar all the way. It’s cafeteria style seating and you may have to go during non prime-time lunch hours to get a seat. While you wait you can peruse the butcher-shop/grocery store connected with the restaurant. If you have a chance to eat here, you should definitely try it.

Went there for a take out today. Decent place. The choice in my opinion was quite limited as everything just seemed to be a mix of 4-5 things on the menu. Has a small store attached where you can buy somethings like sauce etc off the shelf.Had the chicken quesidilla and the chicken supreme taco.Food taste: 7.5/10Service: 8/10Ambience: 6.5/10Value for money: 7/10Portion size: 7/10
