Worst ever…. There are too many good restaurants in Iowa City for a place like this to get any business. Here is a list of the things they got wrong or lied about…..- Heineken (apparently don’t have it?)- Daiquiri (bartender didn’t know what it was…really)- Pepsi (ordered regular, they brought us diet)- build your own burrito ( they screwed up my order)- chips and salsa (ordered them and never saw them)I asked them to take my messed-up order off the bill and she said she would. Then the bill came and it was still on there. I love the many Mondo’s restaurants around Iowa City, but I will not be patronizing them for quite a while after this bad experience.
The only good thing about this place is the Prickly Pear lemonade. My fiance and I went there during the summer and we were one of two tables occupied and it took over 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Will NOT go there again.
Great Appetizers. The appetizers are amazing. Try them all! The Nacho platter could feed an army and the various salsas taste fresh and home made. Great Happy Hour prices and a friendly vibe from staff…
I <3 Saloon. I love this restaurant for many reasons..one being the price of the food and drinks! Very reasonably priced for such great food. I also like how they offer "karoke" night each week and "trivia" night from time to time. It gives my friends and I a great place to hang out and have a good time! It's also fun to look at all the artifacts on the walls! They offer daily specials on food and drinks which is also pretty cool.You must check out their margaritas! I recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great meal at a great price in a fun atmosphere 🙂
Delicious!. My wife and I were in town visiting our son for the day last Saturday. Last time we were in town we ate at a great restaurant Joseph’s Steakhouse. I was dying to go here again but they didn’t open until 5. Our son told us that the owner also owned Saloon so we decided to come here for lunch.Another fantastic restaurant for the Mondanaros. The decor is a like the old west with animal heads on the wall. They have an extensive tequila bar and delicious food. We had the nachos to begin with, which were huge. For lunch I ordered the pork, which was delicious. I’m very impressed with these restaurants and can’t wait to come back and try more of what they have to offer.
Margaritas:). I love this place!!! I’ve been here quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. My favorite thing to get are the fish tacos, they are awesome! They also have the build your own burrito now which I think is a great idea. I got this last time and it was made perfectly, just how I like it. The Saloon also has an amazing tequila bar and delicious margaritas 🙂
YUM!. I was in Iowa City this past weekend for the Iowa vs. Wisconsin game. I ate at Saloon for lunch and really enjoyed it. The food was great. We ordered nachos as an appetizer which were huge and delicious and for my meal I ordered the taco salad. The salad was also huge and delicious. And the drinks were great too. I had a mojito but my favorite was their pineapple black pepper infused tequila….so yummy!
