Extremely slow service. Can;t understand why they are so slow. Like all Korean restaurants, they serve free small appetizers so supposedly you don’t have to wait hungrily. The appetizers are all cold pickles, salads that could be pre-plated and put onto your table in 5 mins after you place your order, just like all realy Korean restaurants elsewhere do. But it’s not the case here, they give you the appetizers 1 min before they serve you the main dish, which is usually after >30min wait, then what’s the point! Somehow it’s just seem to be the case in all iowa city restaurants that since there is no comparison, no competition, so no one even cares to improve their service. Your restaurant can be so bad and you can still stay in business. This one will be out of business in 3 weeks in CA. what the heck!
Best & Most Authentic Korean Food. Seoul Grill has the best and most authentic Korean food in the Iowa City area. Everything I’ve tried has been excellent. There is usually somewhat of a wait but it is definitely worth it.
Very Authentic. Best Korean in Iowa City. I always order the bibimbop, it’s delicious and very authentic. It always seem to be busy whenever I go but is definitely worth the wait.
Best Korean in IC. I recently ate here for the first time the other day and loved it. By far the best Korean in Iowa City. I like really spicy food and the guy recommend this seafood dish which I ended up loving. It actually had some spice to it! I can’t wait to come back again.
OK food, very BAD services. The food was OK, but the waitresses there had a very bad attitude. We stood in front of the door for about 10 minutes, the waitress there saw us and didn’t have the slightest intention to lead us to a table in the half-emptied restaurant. It took a while before we could get the waitress attention for ordering our food. After we paid for the bill, they even returned the signed check demanding for more tips that they believed their unacceptable services deserved.WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!
Hard to prounounce, easy to enjoy. With great classic Korean dishes like bibimbap (which i’m never sure i’m saying right) this place is a great break from americana, chinese, or sushi. The meals are all prepared by the head chef, a little Korean woman with tremendous energy, and her staff who assists her by prepping the ingredients. nearly all the dishes are served with several small sides that are delicious in their own right and give your mouth a break from the main dish so you can keep treating yourself to the flavors in your bowl.Though there are not enough tables to accommodate the patrons often, the Old Capitol Food Court is just outside and has plenty of seating. The menu includes several traditional Korean favorites and a few Japanese influenced udon dishes. Easily one of the best places to give your palette a change of scenery.
