Oh this was really good.The fries were fantastic! The size of the burger and the taste (almost) made me sing. I might not go back to Iowa city ever again but if I do, I would certainly go back here.
Overcooked Burger Joint. The place has a nice atmosphere and beer selection. But ultimately the restaurant fails because they’re an upscale burger joint where I find the burgers routinely overcooked. Honestly, the smaller chain restaurant down the block called Teddy’s Bigger Burgers has much better burgers.
A must go when in IC. Best burgers in the nation!

A little overrated.. If you want an interesting burger, Shorts is the place. Unfortunately, most times they will completely overcook your burger. The atmosphere is quaint, but they have so much traffic, even during the summer, that it’s not a comfortable lunch or dinner place because of how packed in the tables are. If you are lucky enough to get a booth, you’re in good shape… but good luck. They have a tiny kitchen and when they are super busy, expect to wait quite a while for your food. The atmosphere is forgivable, the burger choices are great, but the _most_ important thing when it comes to a tasty burger is making sure it’s not overcooked!
Very good burgers. Only problem is their fries, they are way too soggy. Some people tend to love them, but I end up leaving most on my plate. If you like their burgers but want more of a selection go to their sister restaurant across town Stella’s. wildfire pizzas, Cajun food, crispy fries.
