Hmmm. The Pizza was great and tasted wonderful but the price is awful!! we paid ALOT for two pies but i guess the taste makes up for it!! 😛
The best pizza. Straight up the best pizza in the region.
To heck with calorie counting if you eat here but hey it’s ok to splurge once in awhile. Well worth indulging in any of the pizzas. I love the flying tomato. And for you vegetarians I suggest the vegatoni! OMG…..pig the heck out! Don’t even try to eat healthy here….you will regret it. I give them a B+
Fun place and good food. The Wig & Pen is a blast the night before Iowa football games. It can get very crowded but the wait is worth it. I highly recommend the Wiggatoni or the Flying Tomato pizza.Always a great time at this place.
Don’t know if I’d consider this pizza…. It’s essentially a pie crust (like an apple pie crust – very crumbly) with sauce and cheese. We got the spicy flying tomato, and it was truly spicy, to their credit. Decent atmosphere, but a bit on the pricey side. Adequate beer list. Took a looooong time to get our food, and it wasn’t that busy.Probably won’t be back.
Outstanding. Just moved to Iowa City from Texas. Heard that the pizza was exceptional. Ordered the Union Jack in the Flying Tomato style – to go. Just exceptional. It was packaged smartly as well on a round thick base stock as well as a thick to go box. Ten minutes later, no seepage through the box, so my car stayed pizza juice free – but the aroma was compelling. About an hour after picking up, the kind man that took my order called to make sure it was to my liking. Later this week, it’ll be dine in. Well done lads and ladies, well done!
Doesn’t Disappoint. Our group was really pleased by the quality of service we received. We had a large group of over 10 and we were concerned if we could get in and out in under an hour. The staff graciously had our table all ready for us when we got there, and allowed us to pre-order our food. We were in an out in 45 minutes! The food was also wonderful. We recommend the Flying Tomato and the Grilled Chicken Salad. Everything came out quick and the ingredients were really fresh. Wig and Pen will definitely be going down as a TLC favorite lunch eatery.
