The food is good, but on the pricey side. What makes this a 1-star experience is the horrible service and the charge for each refill, even for the simple things like iced tea, which is the restaurant’s policy that is applied inconsistently. Our friends have been there multiple times and never charged for refills. Our server placed tick marks on our bill. My husband is a diabetic. The server wouldn’t even offer to refill his water glass, and water, as any diabetic will tell you, is something they go through a lot of. Then again, the server didn’t offer to refill anything unless we begged. If she had at least acknowledged us and asked, a lot would have been forgiven. We were largely ignored. She also forgot about our salads. When she brought out our meal, we had to ask for our salads, and then she seemed put out that we still wanted them. It was a miserable experience. It’s probably a great place if you order your food to go – just don’t eat it there.

That comment alone made me think to try it again on a subsequent business trip; what a delight!!! The rope sausage appetizer was amazing. I love the depth of flavor in the sauce and the sausage has to be home made…. So delicious. Followed this with Penne Campo, which also had great flavor. The staff were friendly, personal, on-point, knowledgeable and provided good recommendations. This has now become my favorite spot to eat in Muscatine! Don’t miss this place if you’re in town.10 Nov, 2012I had the lobster ravioli in white sauce. The portion was perfect and taste was alright. The service was excellent and very attentive to our group of four guys traveling for business. The Bruschetta was wayyyy too garlicky, to the point where none of us could choke it down, and it needed a little something — maybe basil. Food came out hot n fresh, so 2.5/5 for flavor and 5/5 for service.

It was not difficult to get anyone’s attention to place our order, get a refill, or anything else. The food was some amazingly tasty stuff, and not a bite went back to the kitchen. Make sure you try the pizza with the white sauce!I would highly recommend giving this place a try, especially if you are really a fan of fresh flavors.
Good meal!. We had a great meal at Salvatore’s. We were greeted immediately and seated in a cozy booth. Our server was prompt and took our drink orders. All three of us had a salad, mine had a wonderful blue cheese dressing. The server told us they make their own dressings. I had the Steak Panino prime rib sandwich with peppers, onions, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. Delicious! and big enough to take half home. Actually today it reheated well and was just as good as last night. My husband had penne pasta with Italian sausage that he pronounced very good. Our friend had chicken Marsala that he always orders because he says it’s the best thing on the menu. We saw dozens of pizzas being carried out and our friend says Salvatore pizza is delicious. It looked to us like most of Muscatine was eating Salvatore pizza last night!! I want to return to try some of the other pasta dishes.
Yumm-0. I’ve dined at Salvatore’s on many occansions. Let me just say…Delish….. The wait staff greet you at the door. The owners treat you like family. The menu has something for everyone. Salads, pizza, pastas, paniani’s and desserts. I strongly recommend this place..
Great family. I have dined at Salvatores several times now for the past year. I find the service to be good and the owners always there to take care of you. We have also had pizza delivered to our hotel and even though delivery takes longer it is well worth it. Overall I think Salvatores is a excellent place to eat and have a good glass of wine or even a capuccino. The owner’s dad is even still there at 75 years old…that must tell you something!
