Better Than Coney Island – I Like This Place. While Coney Island has history, this place has better flavor and decor. The people working behind the counter are nice and involved. They seem to enjoy working there. It always makes the experience better as a customer. The decor is a bit like a diner. Green is the main color theme. I really like the see-through window that shows the cooking hot dogs as you walk in. My two chili dogs were great. The bun was fresh. The onions had strength to give flavor with the chili. Very good place.

The owners are still on the cooking line ready to take your order and keeping their customers happy. On their super soft/fresh bun, I had a wiener with everything, he had a chili dog and a bowl of chile also which was served with a bowl of the freshest oyster crackers. I went back for choice of today’s pie lemony lemon meringue, while a couple friends choose their favorite coconut cream – yummy!I will return.
This place had a nice homely feel from the moment you stepped in. Rates were reasonable and dogs were pretty good. Nothing too special, but it’s definitely an experience in itself to come. If recommend a stop by if you’re in the area.
Overpriced and no eye appeal. Prison food would be better.
This place has the best chili dogs (coney dogs) you will ever find. They have to be ordered with everything and an orange soda. Those who complained about the iced tea just didn’t know what or how to order. And I have NEVER had a stale bun there. The chili is twice ground and mild, but excellent on the dog and topped with the onions cannot be beat. When you dine at an urban legend it is best to ask advice from the people around you in line. They know what is really good. Oh, yeah, and the fries are good as well.
Nostalgia has ruined your taste buds.. I think a lot of people who claim to love Milwaukee Wiener house are much more in love with an image than the food. It’s crappy Fareway hot dogs on stale old buns. I can cook a much better hotdog in my house for a fraction of the price. Overrated.
Love it for the history. Thats really what you are paying for. Great place to take the kids!
