Service is very slow and inconsistent.. Things such as silverware andorder contents do not always come as a given and items need to be asked for. We waited over 15 minutes and had to ask for a server on an unbusy sunday night
In decline. The food and service are inconsistent. Used to be the best prime rib in town, but now the portion size has shrunk, the meat quality has declined and nobody seems to know how to prepare it to the ordered doneness. The lasagna ingredients have been cheapened and the portion size reduced from years past. Garlic bread is now limited to one small piece per entre that includes garlic bread and to receive more, it will cost you. The twice baked potatoes have not been seasoned properly the last few visits. Tossed salads were warm and wilted. But, the price continues to increase! No longer a good value and we won’t be back.
Very excited to try this classy, downtown restaurant. Very disappointed by the small portion sizes (veal), bland entrees, & OVERPRICED experience. Difficult to find close-by parking. Of the 10 of us in our party, only 1 remarked he liked the food. A let down & loss of $76 for our group of 3. And we drank water. Sad.
Awesome Fettucine Alfredo w/ Shrimp. When I lived in the Russell Lamson Building before moving to Jacksonville, FL this was my go to place on Friday Nights. The wait staff knew what I wanted and approximately what time I’d be home and they would have it ready and waiting for me still steaming hot!I have been trying for years to approximate their sauce, I am close, but not quite perfect yet. Lest I forget their Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing is just as tasty. Last time I was there I bought 2 large jars of it to bring back to Florida. Sadness when it was all gone. :(I don’t know if it was due to the difference in Chefs between the W’Loo & C.F. locations, but the Alfredo was always better at the Waterloo location. Also, I always enjoyed sitting in their Library section, Books, Good food, and Great company what more could you ask for. She’d order the Prime Rib and Twice Baked Potatoes. Even if every time we went she managed to spill something on her blouse. LOLI recommend this for those who would like a quiet romantic place for a respite fromchildren & work.Feel free to peruse their website:http://www.brownbottlewaterloo.com/Please enjoy and savor every taste and bite.
If you are looking for a good atmosphere, you have it here! Accompanied with splendid service and quality Italian foods with a plethora of choices. A place I will definitely stop at again when visiting Waterloo!
Always good. Went for a late dinner on a holiday weekend and had a great meal The Beef Manicotti was very good and had a fresh tasting sauce. My date had the Chicken Florentine and it was very good, the marinara was very nice. It was served with bread and a nice salad. The Waterloo Brown Bottle atmosphere is the best around with the books used as a divider and the old time building it’s in. One of my family favorites!
The service was very good. The food on the other hand was bland. Being an Italian this was the worst Italian resturant I have ever ate at. I have to say going to another resturant is very advised. If you dont want to be sick.
