  Food is fantastic! The lady who served us was very friendly. Nice warm atmosphere. Like stepping back into the 70s or 80s in the best kind of way.

  What a cool spot. Good tasting bbq with some yummy beans you must try. I will swing on in next time I’m around for some friendly service and good grub.

  I don’t know how long the Hickory Log has been in business, but I’m guessing it’s been a long time. I loved the wood paneling on the interior of the restaurant. I got the sausage and burnt end plate with fries and beans. Everything was really good, except some of the burnt ends were a little fatty (I know some people like them that way). The lady who served us was very nice. Had a good night at The Log.

  Is it the best BBQ?. The building isn’t much to look at but once you’ve been there, you’ll find yourself craving a return visit.I’ve never had a sandwich like the Jayhawker anywhere else in Kansas City. The brisket on that sandwich makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I drive from Lees Summit for that sandwich, fries and an ice cold beer. Lastly, it may not be important to everyone but they are very clean people. Clean bathrooms and clean kitchen. I like that.

  Best BBQ. Hickory Log is a small family owned restaurant tucked away in a small corner in Kansas City, KS. The ribs are great, the sandwiches are good and the beans and slaw are different than most bbq joints and very good! You gotta try it
