I frequent this place often. Jazz is my favorite Sporting KC pre-or post match meal. Delicious food, the best chicken a la mer I’ve ever had. Love the quirky Cajun atmosphere too.
I was so excited to see a Louisiana restaurant in Kansas City. My husband and I are visiting family in Leavenworth so we gave it a try. The food was delicious! We were so full that we had to get the beignets to go. Our waiter so so attentive and friendly. Job well done.
Went here while out shopping, hoping for something similar to what we had in New Orleans. The gumbo was a little spicy, but otherwise wasn’t that great. A disappointment. Girlfriend had the special, chicken a la mer and thought it was okay, but not amazing, as it had been hyped up to be. The blackened chicken etouffee was what saved the score here, it was fantastic. Huge portion, big pieces of chicken, and a good spice to it. Lastly, we were seated near the band area and couldn’t have a conversation without screaming at each other, not a plus.
Went here on a whim, because Yard House was extremely busy. I wasn’t terribly impressed. The food was good, but over-hyped, for what I had heard about it. The biggest disappointment was the price. It wasn’t outrageous, but definitely overpriced. A 20%-25% price cut would bring prices in line with quality and portion size. I would go again, but don’t know that I’d make s special trip for it.
I wasn’t overly impressed with the place. The gumbo was very good. I tried their specialty dish Chicken a la Mer, but I wasn’t blown away. Maybe I’ve had too much good Cajun food in my lifetime, but I thought it all a bit underwhelming.
What a great time. A live band to go along with tasty food and wonderful service. Nice spot to grab a bite to eat and a cold alcoholic beverage. If being unsatisfied is what you are looking for, go somewhere else. I will be back again and again.
