I came here as a protest to the uber nasty Krispy Kreme. The icing tasted similar to the above mentioned shithole… The music was religious country crap. The sandwich was good, though… Not good enough to override the other two annoyances.
Disappointed. We have been here years before and enjoyed Mema’s. Returned recently and was disappointed. First, the shop itself. It was dirty. Tables were dirty, napkin holders were empty, and display cases grimy. We got a cookie, and while it looked cute (princess shoe), it tasted horrible. Strong flavor of baking powder and really nothing else.
Disappointing. I write this review in the hopes that Mema’s will use this information as motivation to improve their products. I stopped in there today and got my daughter a Princess shoe sugar cookie. It was cute to look like but tasted awful. Not only was the flavor unappealing it was hard! The cookie tasted like the place smelled. Some people might find this appealing but I didn’t. I got my son a dinosaur cookie. Again it was cute but didn’t taste that great. At least the texture of this cookie was more soft. Finally I bought my husband a brownie. It tasted stale. It was more like a bland, tasteless, chocolate cake than a delicious moist, chewy, brownie. The brownies from the box are much better. I was hoping to bring my family home some treats but just wasted 10 bucks on stuff that I could of made much better myself. If I were buying these items from a coffee shop or some place like that I might not expect much but since this place is a bakery I expect the baked items to be delicious. Perhaps I got the wrong things but again, it’s a bakery…it should all be good.
