The tortillas are the best thing about Ninfa’s. The rest of the food is quite tasty but the fresh tortillas are exquisite. Buy a dozen to go and get stupid with them in the privacy of your own home.

Flour Tortillas to die for. Absolutely the best flour tortillas in the 4 state.area, chorizo & egg breakfast taco is the bomb. Add some papitos & make it even better. Come early because you will want to take home some tortillas when you leave, but when they are gone, they’re gone. Enjoy, & notice how hard everyone works for your enjoyment. Five stars!

Tortillas. The huevos con chorizo breakfast they serve here is one of the best I’ve ever come across. I’ve eaten in parts of Mexico and this little place puts those to shame. I usually stop in every other week for some those famous tortillas that Ninfa makes! She’s a rockstar!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in KC!. This place is amazing. I’ve been eating here since I was probably 3 or 4 years old and it is by far the best Mexican food you’ll find in KC. I grew up with a mom who was taught to cook Mexican food by my brother’s grandma and great-grandma, who was from Zacatecas, Mexico–she knew what she was doing!! The tortillas are AMAZING and everything else is, too. My favorite thing to get is the fried flour taco, but you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. The place is named after the owner’s mom and shes been in charge of the kitchen since it opened. Everyone is really nice and the atmosphere is casual and laid-back.

Best Tortilla’s!!!. If I lived closer to Ninfa’s my whole paycheck would go towards the tortilla’s. We buy dozens at a time, and there is no place better. Nothing more great than a warm tortilla with butter and there hot sauce!!!

Not recommended. The laminated menu was so filthy that it almost turned my stomach. I decided to press on so that I could find out if the tamales were any good. Since California’s on SW Blvd closed a while back I haven’t been able to find tamales like they made, which were near identical to my grandmothers. The tamales at Ninfa’s leave a lot to be desired. There was very little flavor overall and what did stand out was the spice cummin. I was very surprised at how little filling there was in each tamale. I had also ordered a cheese and onion enchilada. There was no enchilada sauce. Just melted cheese wrapped in a corn tortilla with grated cheese on top. I couldn’t tell if there were even any onions in it. I kinda smelled onion but they must have been miniscule because I couldn’t see, feel or taste any. I don’t mind little hole in the wall restaurants at all but I don’t care for any restaurant were it is obvious that no one is cleaning anything that doesn’t absolutely have to be cleaned by order of the department of health. The windows and most other surfaces in there were filthy as well as the menus but at least I don’t have to touch them in order to decide what to eat. All of the cups, plates, knives, spoons and forks are cheap plastic disposable junk. I think this goes with their policy of not cleaning anything. Just use it and toss it out. They should do that with their menus as well. That reminds me. Instead of having business cards at the register to promote business, they have a business card holder filled with really crappy photocopies of business cards. As for the other reviews, yes, fresh warm flour tortillas are great but they certainly don’t make it worth everything else that you have to endure. Any idiot can make fresh tortillas at home (including me and I’m a dumb old man ;o) I made them when I was in the tenth grade as part of a spanish class assignment.

Fabulous Enchiladas. I had the cheese and onion enchiladas and the beef enchiladas…they were terrific! My husband had the best taco he has ever had in his life!! We will go back, and often!
