Ribs. I have been going here for ribs for over 30 years. Imo better ribs than the big name bbq places.
Food not good post remodel. I have been eating at Rosedale with family and friends for 20 years. They did a remodel of the restaurant a while back and since then the prices went up and the quality went down. Gave them multiple chances recently and there was one thing consistent, the quality is not good anymore. I am sad to report that both times I visited after the remodel I experienced what tasted like reheated brisket and it had an excess of fat. It also appeared that old burnt ends were mixed with new burnt ends and extra seasoning was shaken on the old burnt ends in an attempt to fool the person eating them. I understand that everything cannot come out of the pit fresh, but it should not taste re heated. Rosedale was always a borderline bbq place to me but now it is officially off the list. Plenty of bbq spots around town that will surpass this place.
Great then, Great now. This Restaurant just underwent a nice facelift and I was personally happy to see that hey kept the Rosedale feel. I enjoyed the new leaner, meatier ribs and tried the burnt ends which I must say were much improved. I do wish they would go back to pit smoking the beans ( which I understand is in the works) and make their own slaw. Overall a good experience.

Worst BBQ in Town. My husband and I went to this place last week after we tried to go to Danny Edwards and it was closed. Rosedale was the alternative. That was $32.00 we should have just thrown in the trash. I had the Burnt End sandwich with beans and coleslaw. The burnt ends tasted like dog food smells. Can’t even comment on beans and slaw –bad news. My husband had the Sausage on a bun. It had been pre-made maybe 2 days before. A soggy mess!! The place was so dirty that I had to take Wet Ones and wipe the table down. No knives and the forks were nowhere to be seen. The cooks were eating at the counter and drinking bottled beer. A server was eating Chinese on the counter. There were so many flies you would have thought it was summer time instead of winter. If you want the runs–eat here.
Metiocre. Don’t bother.. This place isn’t horrible, but it doesn’t compare to the good BBQ places in town by any stretch. It’s pretty metiocre and overpriced for the taste and quality. The beans taste like canned baked beans with some stuff added. The slaw was average. The pulled pork was fine. Not very tasty and they don’t serve it with sauce- which would be fine if the meat was tastier. There’s only one type of sauce so if you don’t like that, you’re out of luck. It’s on the spicy side and has an odd flavor. The slab of ribs was cooked well but not very flavorful. I wouldn’t go here again, especially with all of the real BBQ places in this city.
