Small hole in the wall BBQ joint. I had brisket and burnt ends. They were excellent. Tender and great flavor. They have 2 sauces. A spicy and sweet. I liked the spicy. I also had potato salad.. Theirs is served warm. Coleslaw was run of the mill. It was however a little pricey. $18 for 1/2 lb of meat and sides. Overall a good experience however

This is a very underrated spot. I’m surprised it doesn’t have a better rating. Brisket is very good, sausage is good, warm potato salad is awesome. Service is fast. They had a spork for a fork which was frustrating to eat with. But that could have been an ordering error. Also, the sauce and the fries are just okay. But the meat was very good and worth the trip. This is now one of my favorite BBQ places to eat in KC.

This has to be the best bbq in kc ,plus the guys do all of there own smoking ,there food is always on point. these are tried and proven recipes that they use.plus they are down to earth good people, they have been on the Bbq competition circle for a number of years winning a lot of them .I’am a fair cook my self as I started when I was about 5 am now 70 ,I ran restaurants in Branson MO.these brothers know what they are doing .and now they are open in the evening for dinner so hop on down and give them a try you won,t be sorry.

Love Slaps Bbq. I’ve eaten most of the items from there menu. This place is outstanding. The brisket, burnt ends, ribs, turkey, chicken wings and sausage are always moist and tender. Never overcooked. I also enjoy the twice baked potato casserole, beans, hush puppies and fries. They always have a friendly attitude. And now two sauces to choose from. Check Slaps be out. Totally worth it.

Burnt End Sandwich. Best item. Every thing else is average16 Nov, 2014Bbq in a can. We eat bbq every week and love trying new places. We showed up expecting great things. I had the the brisket and sausage sandwich which I rate 4/10, mainly due to the sausage. The flavor of the meat did not taste smoked and the sausage had a really tough skin with a flavor of a low grade store bought brand. The ribs we rated at 6/ 10, mainly because they were tender. Burnt ends we rated at a 6 and they probably had the best flavor. The side taste like they were out of a can. Too many others that are way better to rate this place better than average.

First visit and really the company was better than the meal.. My dashing Son took me to lunch (thank you Son!). I enjoyed his company probably more than my meal. Now, this is based on only one visit, we arrived a little later so some items they were already out of, so consider all that into the review. My Sons ribs were good, very moist and apple wood flavored. However, very over done to the point of disintegration and moist to the point of no char or chew factor. The sauce was ok, sort of thinner and sweeter sort of like a glaze more so than a sauce. I had the sausage sandwich, which I probably would have ordered even if they hadn’t been out of other items, though I may have had burnt ends had they not been out. The sausage was excellent. I don’t know if they make their own sausage or pre-purchase it but it’s really good and smoked just right, nice crunch to the outer casing and the bun is nice-sauce again so-so. Added pickles to my sandwich. We both had the house made coleslaw and it wasn’t bad but not anything excellent by any means. Probably the Driftwood Bar-B-Que food truck has the best coleslaw in the city but they weren’t open this summer, hopefully next summer. The people are friendly as hell and would bend over backwards to help you and the place, though tiny is clean. I’ll have to give it another shot and see how the burnt ends are.
