Best service and best food in town. We dine out regularly and when we have a special occasion we always pick the 801 Chophouse. I was surprised to read Brett’s very negative review until I read some of his reviews of other restaurants. Brett appears to be quite gifted in evaluating the all-you-can-eat buffets around town. Brett, you should stick to what you know, and that is NOT fine dining.The first thing you will find about the 801 is that the management and staff has only the guest’s needs in mind. I have had several business type meals there and for those events the staff is invisible. On every occasion the manager has stopped by the table on numerous occasions to check on our experience. And, I have even seen the managers adding towels to the bathroom. When something needs done the associates don’t need to be told what to do they just do it. Professionalism all the way.When it comes to the food for this type of venue there is no place in KC better. In fact, I would place the 801 in the top 5 of steak houses in the country. Their cuts of beef are as advertised and are always consistent. And, if you are in the mood for pork their Iowa cut chop is excellent.So, if you are looking for a place to celebrate a truly unique life event or you just want to have an amazing meal you need to make a reservation at the 801 Chophouse. They will take very good care of you.
Really bad food. I cannot tell you how bad this food was for the price. When you pay over $50 for a meal, you expect a high level of taste and flavor. The chicken was so dry, it is hard to even fathom how long they over cooked it. The brussel sprouts were not good. The shrimp was also chewy and over cooked. How can a place charge what they do and turn out food that is terrible? Confused!
We loved this place! Awesome waiters, delicious food, and a superb experience! We had a party of 8 and enjoyed the porterhouse, delmonico, garlic mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, lobster corn chowder, 801 chophouse salad…everything was amazing!
Slow slow slow. Very slow service and impersonal waiters. Sort of were better than you attitude….
Restaurant Week. Went their Saturday the 25th and had the three course meal consisting of wedge salad, 8 oz. filet (upgraded) and NY cheesecake. The food was outstanding as well as the service and the atmosphere. It is an expensive restaurant but you do high receive quality. Will go back again someday.
The steaks & sea food are outstanding, service excellent. I know they’re going for cozy romantic atmosphere but a little too dark. Hard to see menu.
