My sister-in-law and I decided to stop by here on a whim since it was restaurant week and was able to secure a reservation 2 hours before hand. We got there about 10 minutes before our scheduled reservation and had to wait another 10 minutes to be seated. We were there on a Friday evening so it was packed, but the restaurant itself is pretty small. The hostess is located 2 feet away from the door so if you’re waiting to be seated, you’ll be standing in the way of the waiters, other customers and other people. While we were waiting to be seated, we noticed the hostess handing out roses to all the female patrons as they were walking out the door. However, they didn’t give one to us when we were leaving which was disappointing. The food itself was DELICIOUS! They brought us bread with olive oil and herbs/spices. I need to get the recipe for this. IT WAS SO GOOD! We couldn’t stop eating it!! For our first course I had the house salad and it was great. My sister-in-law had the caesar salad and she said it was the best caesar salad she’s had in a long time. I had the Chicken Spiedini Trio and it was amazing! It was filling, flavorful and I had extras to take home. For dessert we both got the tiramisu and cannoli and decided to split it so we could each try it and WOW! We practically licked our plates! I’ve never tasted tiramisu that good. It melts in your mouth! Our waiter was very attentive and nice even though it was packed and he was extremely busy. There was also live music! I couldn’t understand what they were singing as the instruments and other people were too loud but we didn’t mind. We will definitely be back.

Very enjoyable dinner.. Four of us had dinner and all of us were extremely happy that we tried this restaurant. It was our first time since it changed from Carmen’s and we were pleased. It’s an improvement. Plus we liked the half price bottles of wine. Looking forward to going back.
JCC Theater. We like to have dinner at Carma before going over to the Jewish Community Center for their wonderful productions, which means we need to arrive by 5:45 and leave by 7:10 for the 7:30 show. Often we have groups of 6-8 or more. It is important that you know this so you can have adequate staff there to serve us promptly. The food was good but I would give the service a C plus. First, we sat for 10 minutes before anyone came to take a drink order. Then, please please please bring me my glass of wine! It is annoying when the wait staff chats with you and tells you all about the specials and makes small talk while we don’t even have a cocktail yet and we have been sitting for almost 25 minutes. No one checked on us regularly and our glasses were empty several times, and we would have to flag down the waiter to get another drink. We will be back because we love the location, the ambiance and the food, but please alert your staff and make sure you have enough servers. And always bring drinks first, then tell your table about the specials!We noted our time crunch when we made the res so staff should have been aware of our situation.Thank you!
Great food and friendly staff. Every visit to Carma has been great, whether it be for a romantic & quiet dinner or with a small group. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the Manager always makes sure to talk with everyone. When the weather is nice, sitting outside is great to people watch and relax. Live music is an added bonus. The new menu is nice and the waiter even offered to add some ingredients to my dish last time, so they’re very accommodating. I look forward to when their new lunch caf is open this summer!
I enjoyed my experience at Carma. The new fresh menu choices are a great change. I am a creature of habit and tried this for a change. I’m glad I did. 😉
