A Very Good Buffet at a Very Good Price. I ordered the weekday lunch buffet ($7.25) with a drink ($1.50) at the table (the buffet costs $8.95 during dinner and on weekends). I selected a salad, and a wide variety of entrees. The salad was fresh, and the shrimp was fine. The meats were moist, and well-seasoned. The buffet also included soups, noodles, sushi, fruits, and desserts. Items were well labeled. The plate removal and drink service was friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, but no music was playing.

Much better than China King. My place of work has been ordering from China King for years and I have to say after eating there a few times and trying Happy Dragon out, I wont be going back and neither will a few co-workers. The lady on the phone that took our order was very snappy but I don’t mind because I only have to deal with it for a few minutes while ordering. The delivery guy was very friendly and polite. So all in all, we are satisfied….Would eat there again!
Damn tasty!. I have been going to Happy Dragon for Chinese food since I moved to South KC in 2005. The food has always been good, the buffet never disappointing. The staff is typical of a Chinese restaurant, though the owner can be a bit of a chode when he’s in a bad mood so watch out! We order take out from them all the time as I feel I get more food for the money as opposed to the buffet. The food gets here fast and it’s always very hot and fresh. The hot and sour soup is the best in the city in my opinion. I’ve had pretty much everything on the lunch and dinner menus and I feel like their chicken is the best. The shrimp is pretty big and they are liberal with the portions. When I don’t order the specials I usually get Coconut Shrimp and the portion is more than enough for 2 filling meals.
Called for delivery w/ no knowledge of the min. delivery cost & she hung up on me. I called back & she had a attitude. Never again
Chinese Buffet. This is your average Chinese buffet. Nothing special. Nothing particularly wrong with the place
Small but Good. This one has a smaller buffet but the food has always been fresh every time my family and I have eaten here. Even my kids love this place and getting them to agree on someplace to eat is difficult. It is also a great value for a family of four to eat out. I’ve been here for the buffet several times, however, i’ve not yet tried their takeout service and its been my experience that usually one or the other is good or both bad. I’ve never had it where both were good. The service is also great.
