Not Good!!. My friend and I ate at Room 39 during Restaurant Week. Cute little restaurant, however, we both felt the food was below average. Ordered the beet salad and it arrived at the table with no beets. Homemade pasta was good, however, the sauce was just so, so. Paid $6.00 for carrot cake with ice cream and it was 1/4 the size of other restaurants with a teaspoon of ice cream. Too many other good restaurants in town to ever go back to Room 39.
Overall positive. I would call this an overall positive experience and the tasting menu represents good value in fine dining. The starters were all great and service was very good. The entrees were actually the lowest point, my duck was only okay and my wife had the scallops which were overlooked and served in an oddly flavorless yet shockingly green sauce of indeterminable ingredient. Hi point was the muscles. Goat cheese beignet for dessert was good but not goat cheesy enough and very heavy for so late in the meal.
Order the tasting menu. Order the tasting menu and a good bottle of wine and sit back. You’re in for a treat. It is absolutely outstanding every single time. The food is perfect, the service is wonderful. It’s quiet and elegant without being stuffy and pretentious. My favorite place on a night with no kids.
Best Meal Ever. I loved the four course tasting menu. Great value. The service was wonderful…helpful, attentive and knowledgable. Great wine list20 Jan, 2012Love it!!!. Very creative menus, exceptional service, fantastic wine list with unusual by the glass options. One of my favorite places in Kansas City
Love their 4 course menu. I go there for their 4 course menu. I usually only order an entree from a restaurant but because their 4 course is a good value for being able to try different things and the portions are not skimpy but not too much at all.
We had a very pleasant experience here for lunch. We will be going back soon.
