Decent spot, worth trying. Had The Chop sandwich and chili cheese fries. Sandwich had a mix of different meats on it and was topped with crispy onion strings. Pretty solid item, and there were definitely other menu items that looked good too. Want to try their bowls next time. Fries were solid, but would not recommend getting the chili cheese fries. Chili was pretty weak and they did not exactly load it up with cheese. Another reviewer mentioned dipping fries in their many different flavors of BBQ sauce, and I would recommend this. Appreciated that they had multiple sauces and that you could serve yourself as much as you wanted.Very busy at lunch hour, but a solid spot that you should check out if you are in central Overland Park and want something different than the typical big four BBQ places.
Normally, I like this place. However, last time I went, I ordered to go. I ended up with cheesy corn that was made with rotten milk. My stomach now rebels at the thought of going back.
Burnt ends were very good. Portions were good. Baked potato salad was served warm and was fantastic. They have beer as well. Very good meal.
To be honest, the place looked too clean to be a BBQ joint. It’s not an old shack or gas station, but the food was excellent. They had a competition smoker out back getting ready for the weekend. Thanks guys, 5/5 would eat again.
Loved it. Was in town for soccer tourney. I ordered the burnt ends. Got a half pound of them to go.I really enjoyed them. Smoked perfectly and real tender. Sauce was pretty good too. Customer Service was great too. I can not wait to visit there again some day! I rate this place high with the other heavy hitters in the area if not better! Thanks for the great experience!
A Very Good BBQ Experience. I ordered the Ol’ Smokey sandwich with fries and a drink (the Thursday special) for $7.99 at the counter. My order was delivered to my table with a smile in about three minutes. The hoagie-sized sandwich had plenty of delicious pulled pork and Cole slaw. Several BBQ sauces were available. The fries were tasty, meaty, and plentiful. The restaurant interior was nicely decorated, inviting, fairly new, and clean, with pleasant music. The service was cheerful, and attentive. Daily specials, punch cards, and e-mail offers were available.
Great food, great service, great addition to KC BBQ scene. Good to see another locally-owned BBQ joint pop up in Johnson County. I’ve been extremely impressed with both the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. The menu is interesting and varied, and family-friendly with some of the less traditional offerings (e.g., hamburgers for picky kids). In particular, the bowl concept is really fun and tasty. The Burnt End BBQ has definitely been added to our rotation of favorite KC BBQ joints.
