The Grille at Park Place opened in June 2015 as a collaboration between two Kansas City natives. Owner Mitch Kerns, with decades of experience in business and restaurant operations, and Executive Chef Kevin Clayton have joined forces to bring a dining experience to the area like no other. A graduate of the esteemed culinary program at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, Chef Clayton is happy to return to his KC roots. He spent four years at Lidia's in Kansas City before departing to Florida where he worked for 10 years as executive chef for J. Alexander restaurant. The Grille at Park Place features a unique two-story design overlooking the quaint Park Place shopping district of Leawood. The neighborhood feel of The Grille at Park Place along with its traditional American menu of favorites like prime rib, quality cut steaks and a large offering of appetizers and salads, make it a true lunch or diner destination. The Rooftop at The Grille has a shareable appetizer menu with a full bar, lounge seating, and retractable roof, making it a fun location for Happy Hours and events, and will regularly have live music.
