Frontera's is one of our favorites. But, at lunch Sunday we had a hard time finding our waitress. Apart from that, though, the food is always good. I …

Best Mexican Restaurant in Johnson County! When I moved here over 10 years ago from Phoenix I couldn’t find quality Mexican food anywhere until I stumbled upon Fronteras. 100% authentic! Carne Asada tacos are my favorite
Yum. I learned about this place a few months ago and have been back nearly every week since. I love the salsa, the margaritas have some kick and I’ve never had a bad bite or bad service. My kids have never taken to Mexican before but they love this place!
Hidden Gem!. The place was clean, the service was good, and the food was really good. I had the Bonito Burrito, and it was fabulous! Fresh ingredients and the chips and salsa were good too. The Queso fundido wasn’t bad either (I ordered a half-order). Definitely a return trip in the works!
Fave Americanized Mexican Restaurant. Fronteras is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Johnson County. They serve what I considered Americanized Mexican food. Great sauces, fast and pleasant service and the food is always delicious. It’s a great place for birthdays too – free fried ice cream!
Champagne and Enchilades. Yes, the family favorite is the Sonoro Enchilades, chicken and cheese with a champagne sauce. We order them a dozen at a time (no sides) for take out for family dinners. The menu is very extensive and the food always good. The inside is sort of small, crowded and noisey, hence the take out. Their salsa is outstanding, just the right combination of spices and on the thick-ish side.
Pretty good. Not wild about places that smother everything in sauce. I like freshly chopped ingredients and food items that aren’t swimming together in a sea of goop. so, this place is 1/2 and 1/2. It’s a little fresher than some and as goopy as others.
Favorite Mexican…. Without doubt our favorite Mexican eatery in the area. We have introduced many friends to Frontera, all of whom regularly return. I’ve never been a fan of the standard tex-mex fare which seems to be a large platter of stuff covered with cheese and microwaved until it all runs together. Not here. Salvadore de la Torre has created a vast menu of authentic Mexican fare, of which our favorites are the Veracruz Enchiladas and the Steak Enchiladas. And – I further recommend the black beans as a side. MMMMMMMmmmmmm. Love it.
