Excellent lunch atmosphere, great food. Good business meeting while at lunch
Beware…. Pizza is great. But only place in town where you get zero sides with burger. There 16 ounce draft are not 16 ounces. Smaller mugs than competitors by 2 ounces. And be sure to review bills. When you add a side they charge appetizers price unless you point it out.
Wings. I love good, meaty, fall off the bone wings. Sauces are great too! Never done the hottest option but I am a big fan of the molten.
Wondered why this place wasn’t busy at 6:30 on a Saturday night.. No cheese on the nachos, ignored special request to leave off onions and peppers on the Philly, and the Philly is made with ground beef, not sliced. Will not return.
Excellent service, same good food as the original-tastes the same. Went for lunch, no wait. My meatball grinder was identical to any of the other that I’ve had at Grinders, with tots-very yummy. More expensive that the original Grinders. Service was very speedy-almost too fast. Didn’t have beer so I don’t know about any warm beer.
I tried to call in a pizza to go last weekend and was essentially told to go get intimate with myself. While that may sound appetizing, I really wanted the pizza. I ordered d’Bronx and was more than satisfied!
Great atmosphere and tasty food. If you are looking for a cool place to enjoy a beer and some great food in a fun atmosphere, this is it. We’ve been to Grinders-Stonewall several times now. Each time we’ve gone we’ve tried something different and have never been disappointed. The soft pretzels are one of our favorite items (we order them every time) and you have to check out the smoked Gouda potato salad. It is excellent. The wings were plump and juicy. My companion, who loves extremely hot foods, was going to order the death sauce wings and our server immediately recommended that he try the sauce on a toothpick first and thank goodness she did. He changed his order to just one wing with the death sauce. We’ve also had the Reuben which was piled high with meat and the grinder-which was excellent, but I am a sauce lover and would have liked a bit more on my sandwich (which I am sure they will accommodate). The home-made chips came with my companions order and I am not usually one for chips, but these were some of the best I’ve had. Not greasy at all and great flavor. Our last visit we had the pizza. it was excellent. We built our own and they did not scrimp on the toppings. You can dine inside or enjoy the lovely area they have outside and play some bean bag toss while you’re out there. I noticed several other reviewers had issues with the beer, but in all of our visits, ours has been just fine. I tend to order more malty beers though, so perhaps I didn’t notice the temp as these beers only get better as they warm. I would also add that the servers are top-notch, which makes it even more enjoyable.
