Tried Pancho’s a few weeks ago. Tried the pork burrito. Surprised that I liked the food. Unfortunately I didn’t like it about an hour later.
Taking business elsewhere. I’m usually the avid Ponchos fan for many yesrs and even have taken lots of people to treat them. However my last few burritos have been total crap. I just came home with one Carne Asada and one Rancho and the tortillas were burnt heavily on the inside and barely any filling. The Asada didn’t have guacamole and barely any Pico. The Rancho was poor in quality and also not much to the inside. I feel totally ripped off spending my money there now being I spent it with your establishment broke, my phone is off for a couple days and it’s cold and raining so I don’t feel like going back out with only a maybe I would get my money back.
Authentic in every way. Even the radio blaring a Mexican station in the kitchen makes you feel like you at a restaurant somewhere South of the border. Don’t expect a well decorated fancy experience here. This is bare bones goodness. Look past the plastic silverware and foam plates to appreciate how real mexican food should taste. The portion size is generous and everything I have tried has that homeade flavor. The building is an out dated and run down former fast food store of some sort. Who cares! The service is at the counter or drive-through. This is not Taco Bell so expect to wait twice as long for food which is three times as good.
Lunch at Pancho’s TODAY 5/14/2013. Myself and co-worker went to lunch TODAY (5/14/2013) IF YOU CAN CALL IT THAT at Pancho’s on 89th & Bluejacket. The food was nothing short of HORRIBLE. I ordered the 3 rolled Tacos and my co-worker ordered the 3-Rolled Tacos with a Fiesta Taco with NO tamatos and NO guacamole. Her order came with smothered with this green stuff they’re trying to pass off as guacamole and the tomatoes she asked them to with hold. The 3 Rolled tacos I ordered were all cold and smothered in Grren gook and I sent it right back — only to be further disappointed. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME obliging this place (I can’t in good spirit call it a restaurant). Opt for Rudy’s Tempanara or Los Corales. It’s worth the drive if you work or live in Lenexa. Pancho’s needs to put out of business. I’m sure local good mexican restuarants are appalled by this place. The big clue should have been when we walked in and there was literally 1 person sitting in the dining room. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I GO BACK TO THIS PLACE. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DISGUSTING FOOD. I paid $4.54 for lunch and I want it all back. We were both so disappointed after eating here. The greasy fat guy in the back could care less that the food he was sending out was less than subpar. Foodie like myself — BE AWARE OF PANCHO’S!!!
Avoid the Overland Park location!!! The service is the worst! But the food is even worse!!! If you do like the food at this location, do yourself a favor and try a different location! You’ll never go back!!! I’m a fan of panchos because they have the same menu as the 24 hour burrito places in the southwest…panchos isn’t as good but it’s close enough. I live closest to the Overland Park location and they consistently serve fresh out of the refrigerator cold food. Main st Kansas City and the Topeka locations are the best, olathe is ok, but Overland Park is terrible!
Service is horrible. A coworker just came back from there with her dinner. She ordered one item and received another. When she called to tell them about the error they asked her to hold on to the burrito until tomorrow so she could bring it in as proof. Are they serious? Hold onto a $4 burrito for 24 hours? Do yourself a favor and make a run for the border.
