Zarda barbeque. Zarda Barbeque is the best barbeque I’ve ever had. The staff is so courteous especially the tall guy named Mike at the 87th street location. The food is always hot and very tasty. The sauce is delicious. I’ve had a little bit of all the different foods and love them all. I absolutely love their fried okra. Their french fries are to die for. So I’d recommend Zarda to everyone including my family and friends. debbie fitzgerald
Worth Another Chance. After reading the earlier reviews I felt compelled to share our experience. We enjoyed a great night out with the family at Zarda, their BBQ has that unmistakeable hickory smoke flavor, sliced thin for maximum taste and biteability, the service is friendly and helpful, we didn’t wait long for our order, the place is always clean and they had room for our big family! The kids love the salad bar and we keep coming back for the meat, they have this fried turkey sliced thin, to die for, their ribs are tender and the sausage is the best in town! I don’t know what else to say, they are a favorite that we keep returning to, and worth another chance.
Bad Customer Service. We usually go to the Blue Springs Zardas and we happened to join some friends that lived near the Lenexa Zardas. We got there a little after 7 when they were to close at 8pm. We immediately ordered food and my family went to sit down. I grabbed some bbq sauce and by that time I had to go around because they put the sign up closing the section we were sitting in. Within a short time my husband needed a refill as I went to get it I realized I couldn’t even get him a refill because they had taken the soda machine apart and were shutting lights off. At the same time they had a huge party in the back that were most likely going to be there after 8. The entire time we felt so rushed and uncomfortable. I’m sorry but I’ve worked in the restaurant business and you fulfill their needs until they are finished. We paid $50 to be rushed out and starred at the entire time. It was the most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had. No thank you Lenaxa Zardas, I am a proud Blue Springs Zardas customer. ~ Misty & Trevor
The BBQ was unimpressive. That’s not to say I didn’t like it, it just didn’t knock my socks off at $14. The burnt ends were sub-par; the brisket was ok; the cheesy corn and potatoes, however, were excellent. This place was good but not good enough for the price paid.
There’s definately better barbeque else where in KC. Also, I remember Zarda being better about 15 years ago. They have changed some of their recipes (potato salad) and added (stolen) sandwiches (The Billy Butler) from other restraunts that do them much better. I do appreciate the salad bar and always grab a salad as a side as opposed to their other greasier sides like the potato casserole.
Bottom of my list. Not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination. I wouldn’t call it awful, I just wouldn’t call it good.
Hy-Vee version better than restaurant. Title says it all…the version I bought at the grocery store was better then what I got in the restaurant…ribs were very chewy, but baked beans were good.
