The gall of this place… they microwave the food right in front of your face. But, that isn’t even the worst of it. There was nothing redeeming about the meal I had here: from the stale taco shells, over-larded beans, overcooked meat, and low-quality veggies. I take that back, the beer was okay, but Don Chilito’s had nothing to do with that. I legitimately had better Mexican food at my high school cafeteria. Eat a frozen burrito instead of this place.
Very Good Mexican Food at a Good Price. The regular beef and bean burrito with the chili con carne topping ($5.59) is delicious. The size is generous, and the ingredients are top-notch. Tortilla chips, four types of salsas, and sopapillas (without honey) are available for free. Restaurants come and go, but Don Chilito’s has been open at this location since the 1970’s. I believe that’s because they offer quality food at a good price. Of course, the restaurant doesn’t appear to have been remodeled since the 1970’s, but maybe that’s part of the charm, and a way to keep prices low. This one is a solid 9.0/10.0.
