There Are Better Thai Restaurants…. Way overpriced for the amount of food they give you. Although this place is walking distance from my house, I can get just as tasty thai food at the Thai Place or, better yet, Bangkok Pavilion. You get double the amount at Bangkok Pavilion and it’s tastier (in my opinion). If you’re going for tasty and great decor, I would shoot for the Thai Place in Westport.
Dishonest – Stolen Tip. I ordered carry-out last night, charged $18.23 for curry and (2) spring rolls. If being over-priced isn’t enough, they added a $2 tip on top of the credit card receipt, against my wishes. You’ve heard nightmares of leaving the tip line empty, this place is guilty of committing that crime.
Meh. I’ve enjoyed Thai food for many years…this place was decent but I wasn’t impressed by the very long time it took them to serve my dinner. I ordered Pad Thai (the most commonly ordered item for sure) and I waited for over 30 minutes. It also wasn’t as flavorful as many other KC Thai restaurants, and portion sizes are skimpy for the price. Not that I need to supersize myself, but you would expect quality or size to justify the price, both of which were lacking.
It was good but just nothing spectacular. The staff was super friendly and polite it was a bit pricey for the portions. Overall I give it two out of five placemats!
Really, really good!. My mom and I are on a mission to try a new place every week…we were going to a burger place, but then I just started craving curry/tofu…my mom tried chicken w/ crispy noodles…GREAT service, GREAT food…I got 4 stars because sometimes in KC it’s not so hot…this was hot, but super flavorful! She had the salad w/ peanut dressing, I had the tofu soup…we both loved all we had, will be back!
Gets the job done…. I’ve driven by Thai Orchid for years and never stopped; I’m pretty loyal to Thai Place. So tonight I decided to order carryout; dumplings and an order of Phad Thai. The dumplings were not the best I’ve ever had, but not bad. The Phad Thai was perfectly spicy (I ordered it hot), but to my disappointment it was only about half of the portion Thai Place serves. I had ordered it to share and just assumed it would be enough to split. So all in all when I’m in that part of town I would probably order from Thai Orchid again or more than likely I would just go to Thai Place.
Great pad thai. Best pad thai i’ve had anywhere but it is quite expensive – i had planned to share leftovers with the hubby but there wasn’t enough left when typically pad thai comes with plenty leftover. but, it’s the price i’ll pay for the best pad thai i guess. waitress was friendly and a little too good at the upsell and talked us into an appetizer 🙂 which was great as well
