Great restaurant. My family and I have been coming here for years. We love the food, service, and prices. Favorites are the green beans with chicken and the honey chicken. Whatever you get is good, and you get a ton of food for your money.
Rainsmokerter. I ‘ve been a fan of Golden Palace, for decades. Unfortunately, I have to admit after trying the old menu several times over the last few months. this restarant has gone into decline. I think you do still get a value, for your money, but what are you getting? I agree with previous poster it’s mediocre Chinese at best. Here are my complaints. New ownership, has forgotten the way they use to make the General Tao’s Chicken. It use to be almost as good as Bo Ling’s General’s Chicken. Now it only has 4 pieces of broccoli or vegetables in a meal, they switched from whole dried red peppers, to Red Pepper flakes. There is no spiciness to the entry, even when ordered extra spice. The sauce is totally different and too sweet. I ordered a Sha-Cha Chicken on one occasion, that was totally bland. On two different occasion’s I ordered Kung Pao, Shrimp & Chicken, and the shrimp tasted a bit old. I didn’t get sick, but I also got a Iron lined stomach. On my last visit, they forgot an order of Egg Roll’s, for the second time in a month. As I was waiting for my order to be corrected, I did notes the fish tank was half full, and needed to have water put into it. It just seemed to me after my last few visits, That ownership really doesn’t care and is going thru the motions. In a town with allot of good Chinese restaurants. Golden Palace need’s to step it up.
Great food that’s worth the drive.. We’ve been going here for over 10 years and the food is always good and very reasonably priced. Lived in Olathe and this was convenient, now we live in Shawnee (about 20 min. away). Still have not found a better Chinese restaurant for the money and quality. Very much worth the drive. Give them a try.
