My new local ‘watering hole’ GERT’S GRILLE!!!!. I am originally from Kansas City,KS, but moved to Philly 16 years ago. Traveling for work brought be back to my ole stomping grounds.. 🙂 Gert’s Grille is most amazing bar food I have ever had in my life. And I’m a HUGE traveler, so it’s definitely saying a lot. You have to try the McGertie sandwich with the broccoli cheese bread bowl. The service was right ON POINT. You never have to feel like you’re ‘waiting’ on the server! ALWAYS a plus in my book 🙂 Okay, I’ll stop rambling on and on.. sorry, just can’t stop talking about GERT’S GRILLE IN OVERLAND PARK, KS. It is a must try, GREAT FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE kinda of place! 5 STARS.
Blah. The people there are very nice. However, it does not make up for the blah food. The meat is fatty, the soup is salty, the spinach/artichoke dip is really just queso cheese dip with spinach. Did not like the place enough that I will not go back despite a buy one get one free. If I was a bar-goer, the place might be more appealing.
Great food and nice people. I can’t stay away. Try the broccoli soup..
I love Gert’s. The sandwiches are amazing and the atmosphere is fun and comfortable. It’s your neighborhood bar and grill. The place has really livened up since it’s remodel. It is very spacious and clean.
It’s depressing. The drab gray stark interior. And, the food is ok but I think geared to huge red-necked males. The salads really aren’t that great and the sandwiches use a loaf of bread. For sports bars I’d go to Danny’s which is just a little further West on College-the food is better and the atmosphere is cozier and friendlier.
CCQ = goodness. Gerts Grille is a small restaurant located in a strip mall. I was there for happy hour and found heaven located on their appetizer menu. C.C.Q. which is a cheese dip of a blend of cheeses, vegatables and spices. This was the bomb and was impressive enough for me to recommend this place for a meal. Staff was pleasant and I heard they have a great lunch crowd. If you are in the area, stop by for a sandwich and C.C.Q.
