I have to give it to Grimaldi’s. They have been able to create ‘as good as it gets’ coal fired pizza in the Midwest. It’s is a true accomplishment, in my opinion. It’s not an easy task to begin with, and not always easy to maintain, as I can attest to from having ‘meh’ pies at Pepe’s. But the latest pie, is by far the best I have had so far, the meat pie, with sausage, meatball, and pepperoni, (added extra cheese, recommended in my opinion). So good, and I didn’t even get heartburn. I’ll be back with some new friends to introduce them to great pie this week!
This place is incredible. A small salad was big enough for 2 or 3 to share. The pizza was a perfect crispy outside, with a chewy inside. The wine. The staff. It was all wonderful. The decor inside is beautiful especially on a cold and dreary evening. There was an issue with our second pizza not coming out, and the management staff not only brought us a pizza to hold us over, but then brought us our our pizza we had originally ordered in a To-go box! They covered both pizzas for the inconvenience. The customer service was impeccable. It’s rare to find such hospitality nowadays. I cannot wait to go back.
