Had their Pan Fried Chicken Sandwich for lunch-holy cow, amazing. It came with a peppered mayo, delicious. Of course the mashed potatoes and green beans were delicious and although I was stuffed I still managed to make room for their homemade, fresh, cinnamon rolls! So yummy!
Delicious Chicken!. The new Stroud’s in O.P. lived up to its expectations. I went in for lunch today and my chicken was hot, juicy, crispy and delicious! The green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy reminded me of home, but BETTER-don’t tell my mom. Yes, I had plenty of leftovers because I had to save room for those sinful cinnamon rolls! Totally worth the hype and the price; remember you take enough home for another entire meal. I HEART Stroud’s!
MIKE….WTF. Whoever is running this place in overland park is just not cut out for the restaurant business.the chicken was worse than the rubber chicken at the carnivals. service was non existant.the service staff was confused…and the prices were as if we were eating at the capital grille.We ate at the 85th street location for over 15 years. the owner of that location can’t berunning this mad house. The recipe must have been changed and what was once aplace to take people from out of town has become nothing but a step up from KENTUCKYFRIED CHICKEN….maybe worse. Even the colonel wouldn’t serve food like this.Hopefully things get more organizedand they hire someone who can make the friedchicken that made the strouds name synonomous with a great dining experience.
Don’t waste your money. Overpriced and below average food quality. Just terrible. Waitress did an excellent job though.
Turn around and go to KFC!. Party of eight last night. Waited one hour and ten minutes for a table. Went to the bar to order a drink while we waited for a table. Bartender said we would have to wait for someone to come around to get our order. Nobody ever came around. Finally seated. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but was mediocre AT BEST. Chicken was dry and tasteless. It reminded me of the fried chicken you would get in a Banquet (low quality) frozen dinner. I ordered the three piece and only ate one. This was a thigh and had the equivalent of maybe one tablespoon of meat on it. Mashed potatoes – tasteless. Green beans – tasteless. I can honestly say that the only thing worth eating was the salad. Drinks were never refilled. It was awful. Grossly overpriced for terrible food! Don’t go! You’ll get better chicken at KFC, Churches, or Dillons. I will NEVER go back to the Overland Park Strouds.
Waited TOO Long for Bad Chicken. I remember the old Stroud’s and was really expecting the one on 135th to be that good. I was very disappointed. My wife and I waited for over 45 minutes until we finally were seated, then we waited another 15 minutes to place our order. The wait for the food took forever but I am guessing at least 30 minutes. The rolls were terrible, mashed potatoes and gravy were the best thing. The chicken was not cooked right at all. The waitress never came back to our table to ask how our meal was until we were done and ready to go. Even then we had to wait to get our check. Not very pleased with the New Stroud’s at all. I will give it one more chance and then I am done.
